Go on and count up all of the trials the Lord delivered you from. Start now (name each one). Don’t leave out any of them no matter how horrible those setbacks were in your eyes or in the eyes of others.
You will need those experiences for where the Lord is leading you. That abusive relationship broke you down like glass, but God healed you. Now He will allow you to use that same testimony to bless another person who suffered the same experience. For that reason, you cannot be ashamed of your past. While you were going through those dreadful obstacles, you felt like you were going to die, right? Now look at you, though. You survived and God healed you. Do you think He did that for you to sit on the couch and watch junk on television? Do you think He rescued you for you to run to the club to act a fool? No, He invested in you so He could use you to invest in others. Look around you. The world is dying. God is depending on you to spread the Gospel so Jesus can save the lost.
