I am at a place where I need You, Lord, to “keep me safe” (Psalm 16:1).
I take refuge in You. Father, You are my Lord and apart from You I have no good thing (verse 2).
“Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure” (verse 5).
In you I have a delightful inheritance (verse 6). I praise you because you counsel me. Lord, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken” (verse 8).
Because of your love, my heart is glad and my lips will rejoice, and my body also will rest secure (verse 9). Father, you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead.
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence with eternal pleasures at your right hand” (verse 11).
The Lord wants you to know that He is your portion. He makes you feel secure. He is your counselor. You have a wonderful inheritance in the Father, and because He is at your right hand, you will not be shaken. You will also rejoice again in His presence.
