I was helping Doug paint this morning, so he gave me a small foam brush sponge with a wooden handle for me to paint small areas. Then I got to a larger section of the house and tried to use that same sponge, which would have taken a longer time to paint.
Doug, who knows way more about painting than I do, handed me a roller. And it painted that larger wall area quicker than the small sponge. What I learned from that experience God is always transforming us into the image of Christ, right? The problem is we try to transform ourselves. God is the only one who can change you. Each time we try to fix our own situations, we should imagine ourselves trying to paint a house with that small foam brush sponge. You will drive yourself insane doing that, right? Now every time you trust the Lord to transform you by His Spirit, just picture in your mind that paint roller, which is more versatile and faster than a small foam brush sponge. God knows how to improve the circumstances we face today. Therefore, let us obey His voice and allow Him to lead our lives. Haven’t we tried being the fixer of everything concerning ourselves? Sometimes we even attempt to transform others. Did that ever work in our favor? Let the Holy Spirit show us what to do through the Word of God, and in return we must obey Him. Then change will manifest in our lives.
