You are royaltyIn my last two articles, I wrote about colors in the Bible and what they mean. Now I want to focus on what happens when you mix the primary colors.
Primary colors are the colors that have always existed without being combined. These colors can be seen in the rain that is mentioned in Genesis 9:15-16. If you want to generate additional colors, you have to blend certain colors together. For instance, when you mix yellow (trials and God’s glory) with blue (God’s Word), you get green (new life). This reminds me of 2 Corinthians 4:8-11, which reads, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.” As Christians, we will carry our crosses like Jesus. And if we persevere, we will rise from our problems with a clearer understanding about life (and that life is Jesus). The passage in Psalm 119:71 concurs with this point. The text states, “It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.” John 6:63 says, “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.” If we mediate on God’s Word when we are facing difficulties, our reward is a deeper life with Jesus. Furthermore, combining red (blood) and blue (God’s Word), will produce the color purple (wealth and royalty). The Bible states, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” ( I Peter 2:9). Imagine that, because Christ died and rose again, we have access to the father and are considered priests. Each time you see the color purple, always remember you are royal (noble, majestic, kingly, and queenly) and wealthy. Try combining the other colors and see what the Holy Spirit reveals to you. Just like how he made a covenant with Noah, God wants to do the same for you. Just seek him with all of your heart. |
