Worship God![]() “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks” (John 4:23). When you enter into worship, it is like submerging and emerging from a river or ocean on a sizzling day. You feel so reinvigorated. Choose to worship You have to make a decision to allow your spirit to worship the King. Worship could be as simple as reading the Bible, listening to worship music, or just meditating on God’s love. Each time you do those things, you are tapping into worship. As a worshiper, you have to become desperate for God. You have to be like a thirsty deer, rushing to streams of water, except the water represents the presence of God. And when you drink that water, you will never thirst again. Living water Do you remember John 4:10? In that passage, Jesus said to the woman at the well, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” The Holy Spirit is that living water. The Word of God is that living water. Jesus Christ is that living water. God is that living water. Then verses 13-14 state that “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Why worship? You worship Him because the truth of His Word has opened your eyes, and you received by faith His love for you. You grab a hold of passages such as I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus, and I am justified by faith so now I have peace with God because of Jesus Christ. You cling to Psalm 23, John 3:16, and other verses in the Bible. Then you allow God’s truth to saturate your heart and elevate you. Place of worship You will know you are worshiping when you choose to not give in to fear, depression, bitterness, regrets, etc. but choose to worship. Instead of speaking negatively or thinking poisonous thoughts about your situation or God, you decide to lift your eyes to the sky and watch the birds soar in the air. Then you imagine yourself soaring high above the distractions, becoming one with the blue sky, and being free. This is worship! Novels by Stacy-Ann Facey |
