When God's timing is taking too long

Have you ever felt like you needed God a month ago? You prayed and believed He would show up and rescue you, but nothing.

Give it to me now

Patience is one of the traits of the fruit of the Spirit. You see, God is super patient, but some of us are not. We want help right away. We want our blessings immediately. We want to be healed yesterday. We want God to stop our sorrows instantly. Right?

God sees the entire picture

However, Yahweh does not operate on our time schedule. Remember, He knows more than we could ever comprehend because He has the whole world in His hand. He sees the entire picture while we can only perceive a glimpse of our own circumstance.

As you are waiting on your heavenly Father, just know He cannot lie. He will deliver you no matter what, but that will not always happen according to your timing.

Just wait

Habakkuk 2:3 says although the vision lingers, wait for it because it will surely come. “It will not tarry.”

Spend time writing down all the promises God made to you. Then meditate on them so that when you start to become weary those promises can strengthen your heart (Habakkuk 2:2).

Other Bible verses about waiting on God

  • Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord (Psalm 27:14, KJV).
  • Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord (Psalm 31:24).
  • But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
