The Bible tells us to guard our hearts as well as the “good deposit that was entrusted to you--guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us” (2 Timothy 1:14). Here is a lesson from soldier ants These ants use their heads to plug all entrances to their nests, so intruders cannot gain access. They actually sit inside the entrance, with their heads out, blocking the nest. Then when the other hands want to enter, they tap the heads of the soldier ants. That act lets the guards know they belong to the colony. Like the ants, we have to guard what the Lord has entrusted to us. We must protect our gifts, families, churches, ministries, health, peace, etc. Why? Because the enemy is always on a hunt to gain access to us (particularly our minds), so we must wear the helmet of Salvation. This way we are focused, steadily following the voice of God, and not led away into deception. How do you safeguard the entrances in your life? You protect them by reading and implementing the Word of God. If you compromise, then you will leave cracks for the enemy to enter your life illegally. Final thought God is calling us to be watchmen (see Ezekiel 3:17). We are to go higher and deeper into His presence, so He can give us keen spiritual eyesight like the eagle. Will you obey?
