Warning: Your doubts will block your blessings

Picture
We are stuck in some situations because of our unbelief and our double-mindedness. No matter what we are facing today, let us make up in our minds to believe the Word of God no matter what! Never waver between two opinions.

Also, if you are around people who do not walk by faith, you need to flee from them like Jesus did, for you will not reach your full potential in God with disbelief clinging to your mind.

When Jairus's daughter was ill, Jesus told the people to have faith (Mark 5:22-23), right?

Then in verse 35, the people said, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” Isn't it just ridiculous for them to think that Jesus, the miracle worker, could not heal that little girl!  After all, hadn't He just healed the woman with a 12 year blood issue?

When Jesus heard them, He said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith" (verse 36). The father was most likely distraught because the people around him were drowning him with doubt and unbelief. That was why Jesus spoke life into him by saying, “Just have faith."

What is faith?  Hebrews 11:1 states that " Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see."

James 1:5 even tells us if we lack wisdom, we should pray for wisdom and God will give it to us. James also warns, "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways" (verses 6-8).

Furthermore, without faith, we cannot please God; therefore, we must hold on to our faith like it is a precious jewel.  Why?  Because the enemy will come and snatch and kill your faith if you do not guard it (John 10:10).

The Bible teaches us that we obtain faith by hearing the Word of God. So what does the enemy do to hinder our faith? He snatches the Word from us before it can take root in our hearts (Matthew 13:19).

Another way the enemy destroys our faith is through double- mindedness (wavering or undecided in mind).

No wonder Jesus put the skeptics out (Mark 5:40)! Those people were trying to use their lack of faith to hinder and deter the healing of that little girl.

As a result, Jesus prevented them from following him to see the child (verse 37). The Word of God states, "Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with him except Peter, James, and John (the brother of James)."

Also, in verse 40, the Bible says, "The crowd laughed at him. But he made them all leave, and he took the girl’s father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying."

Because Jesus used wisdom and blocked the nonbelievers from infecting the atmosphere, the little girl received her healing.

Then, in Mark 9, there is a father with a demon possessed child. Jesus taught him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes" (verse 23). The father immediately asked Jesus to help his unbelief.

After that happened, Jesus noticed the people were rushing toward them, so He cast the unclean spirit from the boy. Perhaps He did not want to perform that exorcism with the pessimists present.

Additionally, in Mark 6:4-6 Jesus declares, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family. And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their unbelief.”

Children of the Most High God, do you have faith, or are you doubting and entertaining double-mindedness? Make a decision today to believe the Word of God no matter what.

Abraham trusted God and started traveling to an unknown place. Consequently, his obedience was credited to him as righteousness (Romans 4:3).

Always believe God. He will not punish you for trusting that He will give you that job, heal your body, restore your marriage, deliver your children, bless your finances, and raise you up in ministry, among other things.

Just pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you His will. And once it is revealed, believe and never doubt. No ounce of uncertainty can be present in you. Hold up your shield of faith and block the enemy's fiery darts of unbelief and double-mindedness.

Also, tighten your belt of Truth, lift up the sword of the Spirit, and check your helmet of Salvation. You will not be punished by God for trusting, so believe!
