We have to check each day to make sure our Helmet of Salvation is securely on our heads. Why? Because most of the attacks will happen in our minds.
That is why the Bible tells us to allow the Word of God to transform our thoughts. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Protect your mind at all times. Immediately reject thoughts that whisper, “Things will never get better. You won’t get that job. Your marriage won’t last. Your kids won’t do better in school. You’re not good enough. God can’t use you. Give up.” Who is whispering these lies to you? The enemy of course. Ephesians 2:2 tells us that Satan is the prince of the power of the air; therefore, we know he is roaming about to destroy people. Our enemy comes through our thoughts, music, the television, the Internet, among other things, so be careful. First Peter 5:8 says we must be sober (well balanced) and vigilant (watchful) because the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking people to devour. He acts tough like a lion, but there is only one Lion from the Tribe of Judah (Jesus Christ). Thus we must “Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because [we] know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings” (verse 9).
