“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (verse 14). Stay in the light and take no dwelling in darkness. What do I mean by darkness? I am talking about anything that is negative. I am talking about ideas and behaviors that contradict the Word of God. Once you embrace and pay attention to all of the problems in your life, the enemy will rock you to sleep, and you will live your days as zombies (living without hope or purpose). We are no longer living in darkness, nor are we darkness anymore. Ephesians 5:8-10 states, “But now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. When you start counting all of your troubles, just picture yourself swallowing a bunch of ‘hopeless’ sleeping pills. The enemy is rocking you to sleep, so you can live in a state of darkness. Thus, you will be unable to live as light, which consists of all goodness, righteousness, and truth. How will you be able to live in goodness if you keep swallowing those ‘hopeless’ sleeping pills of Lucifer’s lies? How will you be able to live as the righteousness of Christ if you are sleeping in depression, hatred, jealousy, envy, division, fear, unforgiveness, lust, and selfishness? Be alert and walk faithfully with the Lord. Then you will always know what pleases Him and you will prosper in all areas of your life. Stay in the light of His Word so you can eradicate the darkness in your life. “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them” (verse 11). Stay in the light and then you will wake up from any spiritual coma you have slipped into. “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (verse 14). |
