Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior (Habakkuk 3:17-18).
No matter how prosperous or difficult things might be right now, I will still praise the Lord! He has been wondrously amazing to me. He has blessed me with healthy children, strength to endure hardship, hunger and thirst for His righteousness, and hope to cling to each day. On the cross, Jesus resembled a withered fig tree, completely hopeless, but He was the Son of God who would soon change the world and eternity. Don't get caught up with the way things appear. David didn't look like a match for the giant, Goliath. Rahab, the prostitute, did more than just sell her body. Naomi thought her best days were forever gone after losing her husband and sons. Moses, at first, could not see hope beyond the Red Sea. Peter thought guilt would defeat him after he denied Jesus. Samson was blind and discouraged, yet his hair began to grow back, giving him enough strength to destroy his enemies. Walk by faith and not by sight. God is taking the awesome parts of your life to mold you into the image of His Son. Then He is going to rapidly return to you everything the devil stole from you. Praise Jehovah until your situation transforms! |
