The power of silenceCheck out this novel, Bad Blood in me
Sometimes my mouth just gets me in so much trouble. That is why today I am determined to speak life instead of death. When I am tempted to talk inappropriately about myself or others, I will remember the verses that state, “Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble” (Proverbs 21:23, ESV) and “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger” (Proverbs 15:1). The Israelites continuously complained against God, Aaron, and Moses. As a result, those people cursed themselves. Father, please give me the grace to just be quiet. Help me to practice this skill of silence in the name of Jesus. Then I will keep myself away from sin and will be able to hear your voice teaching me personally. And when I do open my mouth to speak, let the words of my mouth be acceptable to You, God. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29). Amen. IMPORTANT VERSE "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken" (Matthew 12:36). Previous articles: Scandalous!
