As you continue your journey with the Lord, remember you are the clay and He is the Potter. As a clay in God’s hands, you will be molded (shaped) into other forms, which is the image of Jesus Christ.
In Jeremiah 18, the Lord told the prophet Jeremiah to go down to the potter’s house. When Jeremiah obeyed, he saw the potter working at his wheel. “And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do” (verse 4). If you exemplify behaviors that are contrary to Jesus, God will rework you into another vessel that seems good to Him. Will this be uncomfortable? Yes. Why? Because some of us do not want to change because we have become accustomed to our own lifestyles. This is why God has to reshape us and put us in heat so we can be transformed into the righteousness of Christ. Is this painful? Absolutely! Who wants to be shattered, remolded, and placed in fire? But it is worth it. Also, before God puts us, the clay, in the heat, He fills us with treasures. 2 Corinthians 4:7 states, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” Then, we being filled with the Holy Spirit, can go forth and minister in the power of God’s Spirit and win souls for Christ. |
