When was the last time you received some really good news? Sometimes all we need is just one encouraging word that will change the course of our lives forever.
Here is some good news Did you know the word Gospel means ‘good news’, but what exactly is the good news? You remember Adam and Eve, right? When Adam disobeyed God in Genesis 3:6, he caused death to come upon all humanity (spiritual and physical death). So in order to free mankind from eternal death, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to save the world. John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” First Corinthians 15:22 says, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.” You and I could not deliver ourselves from eternal death, so God provided salvation for us. Now all we have to do is receive this free gift of life by faith. Jesus died so we might live Jesus died for us so we (John 14:6) will not be separated from our loving Father forever. Because of Him, we (if we receive Him) are made the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 2:21). After we accept God’s salvation, He no longer sees us as being filthy, sinful, wicked, or eternally condemned. No, He sees the sacrifice of His Son when He looks at us. He sees redemption (Colossians 3:3). Ephesians 2:13 says, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” Eternal death if we do not accept Jesus However, those who reject Jesus will “suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might” (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10). Book of Life Furthermore, Revelation 20 tells us that we all will eventually stand before God, and He will open the Book of Life. And the dead will be judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books (verse 12). Lake of fire Verse 13-15 states, “The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” Second Corinthians 5:10 also reads, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” Receive Jesus now Rejoice! This is the Gospel. Receive God’s salvation now and escape death! Surrender your life to Him, ask Him to lead you to the right church, and to teach you how to understand the Bible.
