In the last two articles, you learned about the wilderness. Read them now.
There is one thing I forgot to mention. When the enemy tempted Jesus to use His supernatural powers for selfish reasons, the devil also questioned His identity like he did to Eve in the Garden of Eden. "For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5). Adam and Eve were already ‘like’ God, since they were made in His image, right? Watch out for that tactic of the enemy. He will always twist the truth or question who you are in Christ. So, in the wilderness, this same devil said, “If You are the Son of God…” (Matthew 4:3, NKJV). He will even whisper something like that to you. He will say, “If you are truly a singer then…If you are a prophet then…If you are really saved then…If you are really powerful then…” Resist the devil when He tries to manipulate you into behaving outside of God’s will for your life. He will attempt to lure you into abusing the grace on your life as well. He will say, “It’s not that bad…Other people are doing it…God will forgive you.” Do you remember the story about Samson? He kept resting his head in the enemy’s lap. As a result, he lost his strength. Each time you obey the voice of the devil you will lose something physical, spiritual, or emotional. Therefore, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Jesus continued repelling the temptations of the enemy by accurately proclaiming the Word of God. Go and do likewise. Who you are in Christ
