Psalm 34:8 tells us to taste and see that the Lord is good. It does not say taste and see that lying is good, it does not say taste and see that drugs is good, nor does it say taste and see that all the other carnal (fleshly) behaviors are good. Right?
Psalm 34:8 (NIV) states, Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Real talk. If you do not find the ways of God tasteful, then you need to reexamine yourself with the Word. Reading the Bible is challenging for many of us, but we should still discipline ourselves in reading it so we can become knowledgeable about Yahweh, spiritual things, and ourselves. Also, praying is difficult at times because of our busy schedules or apathy. But since we are soldiers, we need to fight back. We are in a spiritual battle, so please understand that the enemy will oppose you faithfully. Thus, we should behave likewise, defeating him through our obedience to God. Even when our taste buds tell us to spit out the Word we are consuming, like medicine, we need to swallow so we can be made whole. Remember, it takes time to become familiar with certain food, so it is with the Bible. The Lord will teach you how to eat the knowledge of the Word and apply it to your life. Then He will call you blessed and you will be protected under His wings. Previous article: Need help? Cry out to God and Important questions to ask before you say 'I Do' |
