Many people are more concerned about their properties than they are about human beings. Furthermore, not everybody wants to see you prosperous. Therefore, spend more time with the Holy Spirit instead of wasting time on irrelevant people, places, and ideas.
In the Book of Mark 5, there is a story about a demon-possessed man who was living in tombs. Nobody was able to bind him with chains, so he roamed among the tombs and hills, screaming and cutting himself with stones. This man was filled with many demons who did not want to leave that “house.” The unclean spirits even begged to remain in the area. Listen, they would rather enter the filthy bodies (houses) of the pigs instead of being rejected from that area. What was so “special” about that region that the demons did not want to leave? Could it be that there was much wickedness there? Could it be that there were lots of God-loving people there whom they wanted to oppress? Why didn't the demons want to leave? Now, after Jesus cast the demons into the pigs, guess what happened to to two thousand pigs? “They rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned” (verse 13). When those who were tending the sheep saw what happened, they reported the incident in the town and countryside. As a result, others came to witness the situation. “When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 16 Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well. 17 Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region (verses 15-17). Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive us of all our sins. Wash us with Your Word, so we can be dressed in Your armor. Teach us how to prevent demons from using our bodies as their houses. Deliver us from sins that have controlled our lives in the name of Jesus! Previous article Spiritual pregnancy |
