In the previous article, I explained God’s judgment against the haughty women of Zion.
Prophet Isaiah also predicted that these same women would chase after the few men who would remain after battle. He actually said seven women would take hold of one man. Yes, you read that correctly, seven to one. During those days, marriage was significant to women. A woman wanted to be married so she could take her husband’s name and have children. This way, she would not be criticized for being single. The prophet said these women would declare, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!” (Isaiah 4:1) Yes, you read that right. Does that verse sound familiar? Have you ever seen multiple women fighting over one man? Well, these women were not interested in fighting each other because the man was already taken. No, they were begging to be part of an already existed relationship. This way they could “be married” and not be disgraced. Some ladies are just desperate to be married, not to submit to the covenant of marriage, but to wear the title of Mrs. However, God is serious about the marriage of a man and his wife. So women, do not rush into getting married because marriage requires hard work. Instead, have the Lord patiently prepare you for Mr. Right. Read part one of this article |
