Jesus is the radiance of God's Glory
John 8:12 says Jesus is our Light. Now, if His Holy Spirit is living inside of us, we should be glowing, right? Absolutely!
But what should be emanating from us? The answer is God's glory.
Jesus is the brightness of God's glory, which is God's beautiful Spirit. When you think of God's glory, just think of His character (His nature).
As Christians, we know about the fruit of the Spirit. We also know that God's glory is all the characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit along with God's power, wisdom, authority, and power.
Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Jesus is the radiance (brightness) of God's glory and the exact representation of His being. This verse also states that Jesus upholds (sustains, preserves, keeps up) all things by the word of His power.
That is why Jesus was able to sit down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven after He provided purification for our sins.
We serve a powerful Savior!
Right at this moment, as you are reading this blog, just know that Jesus' Holy Spirit is available to us. His Spirit is ready to fill us with an abundance of love, peace, joy, mercy, grace, self-control, power, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, holiness, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. And when we are filled with His nature, we will glow like stars all over the earth.
Holy Spirit, allow your nature and God's glory to shine through the cracks of our imperfect lives. We surrender all to You so you can make us whole in the name of Jesus.
“The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” (Hebrews 1:3, NIV).
