God is restoring you, bringing you higher, increasing your honor, and comforting youHave you ever been in a situation that seemed hopeless? Then to make matters worse, the people who were there for you during that situation decided to forsake you.
Sounds familiar? Psalm 71:9 reads, “Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.” Some circumstances can really leave us feeling old, right? And we just find ourselves begging God to draw nigh unto us. This psalmist in verse 10 complains that his enemies speak against him and conspire to kill him. They say, “God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him” (verse 11). Well, because many have turned away from your seemingly hopeless situation or have plotted together to ruin your life, the Lord wants you to know He is restoring you. Those individuals think no one will come to your rescue, but they are completely misinformed. In verse 20-21, the psalmist declares, Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more. Our Father loves to wait until our situation looks impossible. Why? Because by then you and all the other disloyal people around you will move out of the way so Jehovah can bless you. Then no one can take credit for your deliverance. Now go ahead and rejoice because you know the Father is restoring you, bringing you higher, increasing your honor, and comforting you. Some of us have not been comforted in a long time. You have encountered heartache after heartache, obstacle after obstacle, and setback after setback. Nevertheless, this is your day to be comforted. Isaiah 40:1-2 states, Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for… And as the Holy Spirit heals you of your battle wounds, applying spiritual medicine to your heart, mind, body, and soul, our Father will let blessings fall at your feet. You won’t have to figure out how to bless yourself because Jehovah-Jireh will send the ravens to bless you. Turn to Jesus today Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). |
