David wrote Psalm 3 about his son, Absalom, who turned on him. Can you relate? Are your enemies the people you know, people you have trusted?
David said, “Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!” (Psalm 3:1) You will go through seasons where a host of people will oppose you. Then they will sit back in their arrogance and mock you, saying, “God will not deliver him” (Psalm 3:2). But while they are laughing at your downfall, always remember that the Lord is your shield, your glory, and the one who lifts your head high (verse 3). You will call on Him, and he will answer you (verse 4). Don’t miss your sleep and stress your beautiful face. Rest in the Lord because He sustains you (causes you to be strong). David said, “I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side” (verse 6). Hallelujah! Don’t fear all the evil that is surrounding you. They are on a mission to attack you, but God will deliver you. From Him comes your deliverance.
