Husbands: There are consequences for not loving your wife

Picture
Husband, be careful how you treat your wife. God created marriage and is serious about it. Therefore, if you are not loving your wife like Christ loves the church, your prayers may not be answered.

Christ loved the church so much that He died for her, “to make her holy cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish... In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies” (Ephesians 5:25-29).

Then in 1 Peter 3:7 (NIV), the apostle Peter says, “Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.”

God expects for husbands to cherish their wives. He is watching to see if they are ministering to their wives both spiritually and naturally.

When husbands fail to love their wives based on the standard set by Christ, they should not expect for God to open the windows of heaven and bless them.

And once their prayers are constantly hindered, guess what? These husbands are further hurting their wives, which is a dysfunctional cycle.
