What are you hiding in your heart? Is it fear? Is it addiction? Is it regrets? Is it shame? Is it jealousy?
The Bible tells us that we should hide the Word in our hearts (Psalm 119:11). Why? So we might not sin against God. What does that mean? The best and most important way to learn about God is by reading the Bible. The Old and New Testaments reveal a divine and real story about God’s love for us. But not just that. This living Word of God teaches us about who we are, how we can please Jehovah, who our real enemy is, what the future holds, introduces the Messiah, instructs us about salvation, discloses the promises of God to us, leads us into holiness, shows us how to live, explains the function of the church (God's kingdom), just to name a few. That is why the enemy tempts numerous people not to read the Bible. Why? So they can be lost in sin, separated from God forever, trapped in bondages (emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual prisons), and ill-informed. Do yourself a huge favor. Grab a Bible, download a Bible app, or search for the Bible online, and begin to study it. Then meditate on whatever passages you read, so the Word will be hidden in your heart like a treasure. As you do that, the Holy Spirit will then remind you of those verses and ask you to obey them, so you will not sin against your heavenly Father. |
