The Bible tells us to give thanks to the Lord. Why? Because He is good and love endures forever (Psalm 118:1).
When you meet someone who has proven him or herself to be good, you usually tend to cling to that person or want to be acquainted with such an individual, right? Why? Because you know he or she will not intentional hurt you. Therefore, you will most likely value that relationship.
Now, if you can react to a “good” person in that way, you should have even more faith and respect in God. He is your Creator. He is your protector. He is your provider. He is your redeemer. He is your all in all.
Therefore, it should be easier for you to thank Him. Think about how much God has blessed you. Your heart should be overflowing with gratitude right at this moment!
Not only must we thank our Lord, but the verse also informs us that God’s love endures forever. This means He will love us forever and never stop. Saints, He will never quit loving you and me.
Then the psalmist repeats “His love endures forever” from verse one to verse four. I believe the repetition is there to remind us that we should constantly sing, “God’s love for me endures forever.”
If we get into the habit of singing those words, we will strengthen our faith in God and will rejoice, knowing that we can never be “unloved” since God’s love for us lasts forever. Hallelujah!
Call upon the Lord and He will answer you
