God will mock your mockersThe Bible says, "The Lord mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble"(Proverbs 3:34 NLT). The word mocker means a person who causes repeated emotional distress or annoyance to another.
There are some people who are jealous of you. They are really like Peninnah (1 Samuel 1:2) who tormented Hannah. The Bible tells us that this woman constantly tormented Hannah because Hannah couldn't get pregnant. Here is your promise. The Lord will deal with those individuals who are determined to harass, torment, persecute, belittle, jeer, torture, scorn, trouble, blame, bother, disturb, and insult you. Don't argue with those people. Remain humble. Keep quiet and let them think they are defeating you with their mockery. Continue to cry out to God and live holy. Listen, no one can condemn you once you've asked God to forgive you of your sins (Romans 8:1). No one! So ignore their lies and twisted truths, understanding that the devil is our real accuser. He's the one who is stirring up people to jeer and insult you. Resist him by not letting your mockers steal your peace and joy. You will be angry because of their lies and twisted truths, but keep replacing any ungodly thoughts with the Word of God. Bible Verses But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble" (James 4:6). "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. 20 Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires" (James 1:19-20). "I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak" (Matthew 12:36). "Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you (Proverbs 9:7-8). "Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires" (2 Peter 3:3). |
