![]() Some people have one main desire, and that is to have a family. There are children who long to find a mother who gave them up for adoption. Then there are married couples who earnestly desire to get pregnant. On the other hand, perhaps you already have a family, but they have rejected you. Well, the Bible tells us that we are joint heirs with Jesus and that we are accepted in the Beloved. Therefore, we can never be rejected. Why? Because God has already received us into His family. He also tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that He knew us before we were formed inside our mothers’ bellies. Now for those who long to have your own family, there is hope for you. Psalm 107:41 states, “But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.” We serve a God who rescues us from a state of helplessness and sorrow and then blesses us with families. Listen, your family is not just limited to your flesh and blood. Your families are those people God has sent to love you unconditionally, like the church, like your closest friends, etc. And for those couples who cannot have children, God will either cause you to miraculously conceive, or He will allow you to adopt. Just seek Him for His perfect will concerning you. Do you remember the story in Exodus about the king of Egypt killing the Hebrew baby boys? This king asked the Hebrew midwives to kill the babies, but because these women (Shiphrah and Puah) feared God they did not do such a wicked thing. “So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own” (Exodus 1:20-21). Please read verse 21 again. Yes, God gave the midwives families of their own! Begin to thank God for the family He has already given to you. Now, for those of you who are still waiting for your own family to manifest, offer God a sacrifice of praise, knowing that He will give you the desires of your heart if they are according to His will. It is clearly God’s will for us to have families. “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord (Isaiah 54:1). Previous post After each victory, there will be a wilderness experience |
