No matter how much we fight to straighten out some messy situations in our lives, eventually we'll have to face this painful truth: God is not the author of confusion, and we will eventually have to turn away from Sodom and Gomorrah and never look back, lest you turn into a pillar of salt.
In Genesis 19:15, the angels urged Lot and his family to leave Sodom and Gomorrah because the city was going to be punished. In verse 17, the angels warned, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain!Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”
While the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt (verse 23, 26).
When the Lord tells us to leave something, someone, or somewhere, we have to obey because he sees the dangers we cannot see. And if we disobey, we will end up stuck. God has an abundance of blessings for us. Let us obey His voice and move forward.
