Paul had a weakness that God refused to take away. Paul asked God several times to remove it, but this was what our Father said to him. "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
What does that mean? It means that God leaves weaknesses in our lives so that we can rely on His strength! After we embrace this truth, and stop trying to be perfect, then the power of Jesus Christ will work through us. Don't you want His power? Well, you will get that power when you accept God's grace, which will meet you where you are weak. Do you know what grace is? Grace is God's unconditional love for us. Each time God blesses you instead of punishing you for your sins, that is grace. Grace is also an essential element of Christianity. When God sent Jesus Christ, His only Son, to die for you and me, so that we could be redeemed from sin and death, that was the best example of grace! Now, if Jesus died for us before we even accepted Him as Lord and Savior, why are we so caught up about our weaknesses? Let's accept God's grace and be at peace knowing we become stronger and stronger in Him as weaknesses are exhibited in our lives. Do you truly understand that? Count up all of your weaknesses. Now say this aloud, "For all my failures and weaknesses, God's grace is more than able to keep me safe and prosperous because of Jesus Christ. Selah." |
