![]() As you continue to offer your body as a living sacrifice unto God, please understand that you will have to endure great conflict from the dark world (Hebrews 10:32). Sometimes you will even be embarrassed in public, insulted, and persecuted. The enemy will even send spiritual prisons your way, so you will have to use your spiritual weapons to break free by the Blood of Jesus. Knowing that we will suffer much afflictions (Psalm 34), the Bible tells us to be joyful even if we are losing our valuable possessions. Why? Because we know that we have “better and lasting possessions” awaiting us (Hebrews 10:34). Also, James 1:2-4 reads, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” So, as we are making decisions to be joyful in God and to persevere, we must also choose not to “throw away” our confidence because it will be “richly rewarded” if we do not backslide (Hebrews 10:35). Hebrews 10:36 also tells us to “persevere” so that when we have done “the will of God,” we will “receive what he has promised.” We accept what the Bible says because we live by faith (verse 38-39). Therefore, we refuse to give up. Demons will remind us of all the things we have lost, and we will feel sad. However, we have to remind ourselves that the righteous must live by faith. Also, we have to meditate on what Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-21. Jesus warned, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Our goal is to complete our Godly mission on earth. God did not send us here to be comfortable. He sent us to this world to display His love and to spread the Gospel. He will provide for us while we are on this mission, but if He doesn't give us what we “want” we must not become discouraged. Let us continue to obey God, for He knows what is best for us.
