Jesus told the woman at the well that whoever drinks the “water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14).
What is interesting about this “water” is the fact that it is free. Yes, free. You do not have to sell your arms and legs to acquire it. Isaiah 55:1 says, “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” How many of us spend endless days working for a paycheck only to watch our money evaporate before it is even deposited into our accounts? Verse two of Isaiah 55 asks, “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?” The text goes on to say that if we listen to God we will eat what is good and our souls will delight in abundance. This is why we need to rely on Jehovah Jireh. He is aware of what we need and will provide for us. He will quench our spiritual thirst, and when we are lacking physically He will offer us physical necessities (milk, house, clothes, etc.) for free. Say “amen” if you know what I am talking about. Finally, Revelation 7 talks about those who have come out of the great tribulation and have washed their robes in the Blood of the Lamb. Verse 15-16 says God will shelter them with His presence, and that they will never again hunger or thirst. Prayer: Father, satisfy our spiritual thirst by drawing us closer to You. Forgive us of spending our time and resources on what can never satisfy us. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And when we are lacking physical necessities, Father provide for us. You said we will never beg for anything; therefore, open up the windows of heaven and pour blessings upon us in the name of Jesus. God, You have plans to prosper us. There are “free” wealth and riches in knowing You. You give us divine love, wells of wisdom, and salvation for no money. All you ask is that we obey Your voice and live for You, so we say thank You. And we will patiently wait for You to work out Your perfect will in our lives. Amen. Previous article: Set boundaries in your life |
