Beautiful Feet (Isaiah 52:7)The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus Christ. He came to earth as a humble servant who died for the sins of the world, so we can have abundant life.
A perfect example of the Gospel in action is when Jesus met up with the Samaritan woman at the well. She had five husbands and was shacking up with a man at the time Jesus spoke with her. However, Jesus didn’t insult the woman. In fact, he did not start off the conversation by saying, “You have men issues. Woman get yourself together!” He simply offered to refresh her life with God’s love. Jesus told her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water” (John 4:10). Then Jesus taught the Samaritan woman about true worship. And when he was finished teaching her, she left her water jar, rushed back to the town and declared, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” (John 4:28-29) Because of her testimony, people came out of the town and made their way toward Jesus (verse 30). On that day, both Jesus and the woman at the well fulfilled Isaiah 52:7, which reads, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" (Isaiah 52:7) Prayer: Father, help us to fully understand the Good News. You loved us so much that you sent your Son to die for us. And because of His death, burial, and resurrection, we can have peace, joy, love, and eternal life with you God, but we must first accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Amen. |
