Be still: God is our refuge

Picture
Sometimes you will feel like your life is about to disintegrate if you take another breath. At other times, you might even feel anxious about a particular situation in your life.

What do you do when you are trapped in apprehension, just feeling uncertain about how God will deliver you?

Psalm 46:10 reminds us to “Be still” because “God is our refuge and strength” (verse one). The psalmist also explains to us that “God is a very present help in trouble” (verse one)

What does remaining still resemble, especially when Christians are facing obstacles such as spiritual bondages, financial predicaments, marital problems, and parental setbacks? How do you remain still in those moments?

The first thing we have to do when we are facing a difficult situation is to remember the characteristics of your God. He is mighty, he is loving, he is patient, he is a warrior, he is compassionate, and he is just. Therefore, we can cry out to him for help.

Sometimes we want to be able to solve our own problems, but the correct response in troubling times is to call out to God since he is our refuge and strength.

What is the definition of refuge? This word means shelter or protection from danger and trouble.

He is a mighty God who is always there in the good or awful times of our lives. And if we are feeling weakened by our circumstances, remember God is our strength. This means we do not have to be the strong one in our relationship with God because he has enough strength to pour into us.
