Be cautious this ChristmasNow that Christmas is finally here, I want you to force yourself to be thankful. Why? Because there is a great level of spiritual warfare around this time.
About 18 years ago, the devil attacked me on Christmas Day, and that actually changed my life drastically! As a result, this holiday temporarily became one that I did not appreciate very much, but praise God my attitude changed and I grew to love Christmas. Plus, the Lord restored my life, and I did not have to spend Christmas alone anymore. Instead, He blessed me that I may spend Christmas with my husband and children. Nonetheless, the Holy Spirit reminded me of what happened 18 years ago and I felt the need to reach out to someone today. Be cautious. In 1 Peter 5:8-9, the Apostle Peter says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” Be attentive on this day because the enemy will tell you that you are a failure, that your life is worthless, that things will never get better, that you are unloved, and that you are better off dead. Yes, he is presumptuous enough to whisper “suicide” or “homicide” in your ears. Therefore, rise up in the power of the Holy Ghost and rebuke the devil. Lift up your voice and remind him that Jesus died because God loved the world and desired to save everyone. Lift up your voice and proclaim that you shall not die but live to declare the works of the Lord. Remind him that Psalm 126:6 declares that “Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.” In addition, Isaiah 55:10:11 says God’s Word will not return to Him void. “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Read God’s Word and learn of His promises to you. Then begin proclaiming those promises, believing that according to His will, His Word will not return to Him unaccomplished. Now that should make your Christmas extremely merry!
