Be bold as a lionThe righteous are as bold as a lion, so do not fear what is happening in your life. Rise up in the strength of the Lord.
God told the prophet Jeremiah not to be “afraid of their faces” (Jeremiah 1:8), for He was with Jeremiah and would deliver him. God also told the prophet that He had made him to be “a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land…” (verse 18). Basically, God was strengthening Jeremiah to go forth and prophesy to a rebellious nation. That is why God warned Jeremiah that the people would fight against him but would not be able to defeat him. In verse 17, God said, “Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them.” Then in Ezekiel 3, God told the prophet he made his face as hard as the house of Israel. Verse 9 reads, “Like emery harder than flint have I made your forehead. Fear them not, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.” Finally in verse 11, God said, “And go to the exiles, to your people, and speak to them and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ whether they hear or refuse to hear.” Be bold and courageous like a lion for your God. Rise up in the strength of the Lord and do all He has commanded you to accomplish. Previous articles: God is doing a new thing in your life and Lion of the Tribe of Judah (He's Powerful!) |
