We are supposed to constantly think about things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good report, excellent, and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8).
Now ask yourself, "Have I been thinking godly thoughts?" If your answer is no, then you need to really pay attention to the following Bible verses. The first one is Colossians 3:1-2 (CJB) which reads, "So if you were raised along with the Messiah, then seek the things above, where the Messiah is sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Focus your minds on the things above, not on things here on earth." When you start to meditate on your earthly circumstances, do you know what happens? You actually suffocate your spiritual man and empower your ungodly flesh to rise up to destroy you! Now, which part of you actually worship God? That's right...your spirit. So, what happens if your flesh controls your life? That's right...you become separated from the peace, love, and righteousness of God. Then you start dying in various areas of your life. That is why Paul tells us in Romans 12:1-2 to give our bodies to God, reject the customs of this world, and let God transform us into a new person by changing the way we think. What do you believe will happen if we continue to think and behave like the world? That's right. We will be separated from God because we cannot love the world and claim to love God. If we love the world, we automatically hate God. Listen, one thing the world teaches us to do is to worry. When you worry, you become the center of your own world. People who constantly worry actually spend hours fretting about what they will wear, eat, drink, live, among other things (Philippians 4:6). So, if you are constantly worrying about yourself, are you placing Jesus first in your life? No. Therefore, if we are to keep Jesus as number one in our lives, we must knock down, arrest, and capture every rebellious thought that speaks against Jesus Christ. Then the next step is to replace all poisonous imaginations with the Word of God (2 Corinthians 4-6). For instance, if a thought comes into your mind, telling you that God will not answer your prayer, you must immediately confront that idea with the Word of God. You cannot afford to ignore such thoughts because they will accumulate into a demonic mountain in your mind. And before you know it, you will be unable to focus on Jesus, heavenly things, the Bible, prayer, fasting, among other things. Do you understand? Now go into battle to protect your mind from demonic intruders! Previous posts |
