Are you ready to follow Jesus today?Just a reminder...Jesus did not look victorious on the cross. But because he suffered and died while on earth, God crowned Jesus with glory and honor (Hebrews 2:9) after His resurrection.
In addition, Jesus' death provides life for us since He tasted "death for everyone" (Hebrews 2:9), and He also paved the way for us to become sons and daughters to God. Jesus' love is wonderful. Just imagine, a king left his throne to live like a slave. Why? So he can relate to the lowly and provide them with salvation. That is what Jesus did for us. He temporarily left his kingdom to share in our humanity "so that by his death he might break the power of him who hold the power of death-that is, the devil- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death" (verses 14-15). Jesus became fully human in every way, so that He could become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that He might make atonement (reconciling God and man) for the sins of the people. That is how much Jesus loves us, and we should accept His sacrifice and seek to learn more about His promises concerning us. He has so much to teach and show us through His Holy Spirit.
