Proverbs 22:1 tells us that “A good name is more desirable than great riches”
Prophet Daniel had an excellent spirit, which caused King Darius to admire him. So it comes as no surprise that this favor on Daniel’s life caused the governors and satraps (a provincial governor) to be jealous of him. Daniel 6:4 states, “So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.” God wants us to live blameless lives like Daniel, so when our enemies attempt to accuse us they will appear senseless. Jesus was the perfect example of a person with integrity. 1 Peter 2:22-23 (NIV) reads, “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” Even when His enemies “hurled insults at him, He did not retaliate.” Jesus simply trusted God who “judges justly.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 also says God “made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Finally, Hebrews 4:15 states, “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” Continue to live right because, to God, a good name is more desirable than great riches. When people mention your name, they will not be able to find any faults in your character. They can speak all sorts of evil against you, but they will not be able to say God is not with you. Furthermore, no one can ever separate you from God’s love even though they hurt you with their lies. Just keep living a virtuously, for that makes you rich in the eyes of God and to your spiritual siblings. Previous article Be Still and Know I am God , Your Refuge |
